My Collection May 2014: Eyeshadow Palettes

I've got a decent collection of drugstore and mid-end eyeshadow palettes, so I think it's time for some mini-reviews of all of them. I may do full reviews later. These are just quick and dirty overviews, so none of my own photos.

Drugstore
Wet n Wild
738 Comfort Zone: one of their eight-pan palettes. I bought mine probably around two years ago. It's fairly well-traveled. The definer shade in the bottom right corner is a dupe for MAC Club/Blue Brown pigment. On my skin, both browbone shades look the same. The crease color on the right side and the definer color on the left look the same on me (black with glittery bits).

736 Petal Pusher: another eight-pan palette. Based on purples. The browbone shade on the left is interesting, it has a duochrome effect to it. I don't know if Wet n Wild reformulated their shadows, but I bought this in March and it is nowhere as buttery and pigmented as my Comfort Zone palette.

737A Poster Child: yet another eight-pan palette. Matte brights. I bought this when I bought my Petal Pusher palette. I have the same complaints about it. There was so much potential...squandered because it is neither pigmented enough nor as easy and pleasurable to apply as Comfort Zone.

395A The Naked Truth: one of the 5 pan palettes, the ones with pans of varying sizes. Browns. Seriously, did something happen with these new shadows? Disappointing payoff, and what does show up is impossible to blend.

391A Art in the Streets: also a 5 pan palette, because I have no self control and buy like three of these at a time. Matte brights, just like Poster Child. Also disappointing—except for the orange. The orange is nice and pigmented. Not as smooth as my Comfort Zone shadows, but darn close.

Mid-end
Kat von D
Ladybird: part of the True Romance collection. Neutral-ish, warm-ish mattes. I love this. I really appreciate that it is suitable for many different skin tones, because half the time palettes are too light for me.

Monarch: sister palettes with Chrysalis. Warm, "adventurous neutral." I wrote a review of it here. Nice mix of finishes. Pretty darn decent. No ragrets.

Too Faced
Chocolate Bar: Browns/neutrals, with some pink/purple accents. Nice mix of textures. It smells (...and tastes) like chocolate. I want to love it so much more than I do. There's not really anything wrong with the palette itself, I just find it really hard to use for whatever reason.

Joy to the Girls: Christmas themed stuff. Mix of warm and cool, but...I don't know, it's really hard to use some of the colors. Maybe it would be easier if I was lighter skinned and cooler in tone, but I feel like the colors aren't very cohesive.

Pretty Rebel: this one, now, I like. You can go neutral and subdued or you can go bold and crazy, or have some nicely accented slightly-brighter-than-neutral looks. Girly is similar to MAC Club/Blue Brown pigment/that one color in the Comfort Zone palette, which you are probably tired of hearing of, but is more of a brown-green duochrome than a reddish brown-blue duochrome.
