According to the L'Oreal website, this is an oil-free light-to-medium coverage foundation with a natural finish. Some shades are SPF 17, but some do not have SPF, so be sure to check your bottle if that's a concern.
Here's a half face so you can do a comparison between my bare skin and what the foundation looks like on me. As you can see, I have some acne, especially along the jawline and have scarring and pore issues, as well as dry patches (yay, extreme combination skin). My bare skin is far from perfect, but I'm working on it. W7 is an almost perfect match for me, just ever so slightly too yellow.
In case it was hard to tell with the previous picture, I am wearing foundation on the left side of this image (the side with the mole by my nose), and the right side is bare. This foundation was pretty good at covering any redness I had on the cheeks, around the nose and lips. It also covered up some of the hyperpigmentation around my jawline and made some of my acne less obvious. It did not significantly smooth my skin, although my pores did seem a little less obvious. It did accentuate dry patches and some uneven areas, but my dry patches are extremely flaky so this was kind of to be expected. It did have a very natural finish when I first put it on. Several hours later, my face looked did look very oily, but nothing a little blotting couldn't fix. It also tends to feel quite oily to the touch after a while.
This foundation was quite easy to put on, as it's very thin and fluid. However, the packaging isn't the best, as there's not much of a nozzle or pump or anything like that. You basically open the bottle, pour it out very carefully and try not to pour too much out, which is messy and frankly probably wasteful if you're clumsy.
Conclusion:
- Light-to-medium coverage
- Natural finish
- Tends to get oily after a while
- Foundation itself is easy to work with, container is not.
I would probably recommend this foundation to someone with normal to slightly dry skin who is only looking for a little color-correcting and doesn't have too many blemishes or anything like that to cover up. This is a drugstore foundation with a decent range of colors, so it might be good to use as a color reference. Remember that although some shades have SPF, the amount of foundation you wear is not enough to receive full sun protection. Wear separate sunscreen and take other precautions to protect yourself from sun damage. 7/10.
Here's a bonus FOTD (where I have the foundation over my entire face):
